Year Three

Welcome to Year Three.

In Year Three, we are enthusiastic, passionate and love to learn. We are eager, practical learners excited to understand the world around us. We are resilient and love to be challenged. In our class we learn in fun and creative lessons and always try our best.

An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

Proverbs 18:15

Year 3 have been celebrating the life of Rosa Parks, learning how she showed courage by standing up for what was right, even when she was scared. The children created their own leaflets to share her story and achievements—see some of our work below.

Through this ongoing learning, pupils celebrate diversity and explore Black history and culture, while reflecting on our school values of faith, love, and courage. Rosa Parks’ bravery links to courage, her belief in fairness reflects faith in what is right, and her commitment to equality shows love for others.

Performance Poetry

We are delighted to share our Year 3 Performance Poetry entry for the Poetry by Heart competition. This year, the children have been working on Spring by Karla Kuskin, and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts.

It has been wonderful to see their teamwork and growing confidence, and we hope you enjoy watching their performance as much as we enjoyed learning and performing it. Well done, Year 3!

You can now see our fantastic Year 3 performances of 'Storm' by Elizabeth Swados. The children performed the original poem, focusing on clear expression, rhythm and powerful use of their voices. They showed great courage by performing confidently in front of others and embracing the dramatic elements of the poem. They also worked together to add their own creative actions to enhance the performance and bring the storm to life. We are incredibly proud of their teamwork and bravery please enjoy watching their powerful performances in the videos shared.
