Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, regrettably we are unable to invite parents into school for a tour of Berkswich CE primary and nursery. We understand that choosing the right setting for your child is one of the most important decisions that you will make in your child’s learning journey. With this in mind, we hope to provide you with a range of opportunities to allow you to gain an insight into life as part of our special Berkswich community and the chance to ask questions. We certainly welcome the opportunity to support and reassure you as you organise your child’s first steps into Nursery and Reception. We are offering virtual meetings to provide an opportunity for new parents to meet our headteacher, EYFS leader and teaching staff. This will provide a great opportunity for you to ask questions and find out about our community and learning at Berkswich CE. Your child is a vital part of this process, and so we welcome them to join in with the meeting.

Lunch Menus

Delicious Dinners at Berkswich

Our superb kitchen team works hard to provide the children with tasty and nutritious meals. We love the fact that they are always keen to join in with the life of the school too. Below is just one example of how much they like to be part of the fun of learning - see the World Book Day photo!

The menus rotate on a three week cycle. To find out which week we are on, please look underneath each week's heading. These are shown below; for a full-size version, please click the download button at the bottom of the page. Although we have to keep to these menus, when a pudding is not as friendly for younger pupils, we try to offer a further choice.

There is a vegetarian choice every day. Wherever possible we cater for special dietary requests. Please discuss your individual needs with the school. Cool water and milk is served daily. Salad and fresh fruit is always available.

Over the year, there are themed days, such as bonfire night.

Each school meal is £2.30. All children in Reception, Year One and Year Two automatically receive a free school meal. If you would like to find out if your child qualifies for free school meals, regardless of which year group he or she is in, then please click on the link to the right.

During the morning breaktimes, Monday to Thursday, the children may purchase a small snack (oatcakes 60p, ice lolly 60p, bacon/sausage sandwich 60p, pancake 60p, tea cake 35p, toast and jam 35p, toast and butter 30p, milkshakes 60p and fruit juice 35p).
