5-4-3-2-1 Coping Strategy for Anxiety

 

When you are feeling anxious or panicky, try this simple activity which can refocus your mind.  Before you begin, focus on your breathing; taking long, deep breaths will help give you a sense of calm.

 

5 - Find FIVE things that you see around you.

 

4 - Find FOUR things you can touch around you.

 

3 - Find THREE things you can hear.

 

2 - Find TWO things you can smell.

 

1 - Find ONE thing you can taste.
