(to the tune of One short day from Wicked)

Five short days here at Laches Wood

Five short days here on residential

Five short days to strengthen our friendships

Five short days to cram in activities

Everywhere that you look it’s so special

It’s all so exquisite, we want to visit

Until the week’s through.

There is fun as far as you can see

Comfy beds in dormitories

(That’s if you can get your duvet on!)

There are wonders like I’ve never seen

It’s all grand and it’s all green

I think we’ve found the place where we belong

I want to be in this hoi polloi

I’ll make the most of every day

I’ll climb and run and laugh and play

And for five days I’ll wander and enjoy!

Five short days here on residential

Five short days to have a lifetime of fun

Five short days and we’re warning the leaders

Now that we’re in here, you’ll know we’ve been here

Before we are done!

What’s for breakfast

Is it sausage or bacon or hot pancakes with syrup on?

What’s for lunch

Shall I have sandwiches with cheese or tuna on? (Part 1)

When it’s time for tea I’ll be ready

I’ll try to hold my tray steady

Ooh-ee-ooo

I am so very full

Now what’s for pudding?

Group one go back to breakfast line.  Group two carry on below after singing 'pudding'

What a way to be spending our school days

What a way to be spending our time

(All join in for this line) What a way to explore some of this world

Where so many roam to

We’ll call it home too

And now, just for now we can say

We’re just one class

One big class

The best class

Sharing five wonderful

Five short … days!

(in the … it is ‘Shh, Mr Robinson’s coming!’
