Digital photography

Did you know that not all images are what they seem? Year Two have been digital detectives and looked for clues that tell them that an image has been changed and even faked!

Here they are in action!

Can you identify the real and fake photographs?

The children explored how digital technology enables photographers more opportunities to be creative with their photographs.

They learnt that digital photographs can be changed and they recognised that filters create different effects and moods.

They then built on the skills they had learnt from the previous lesson by taking photographs of each other in the appropriate formats and applied various filters t them. The children could justify their choices.

Today the children have been learning about portrait and landscape formats. They made predictions about what format would be best to use when photographing various subjects. After experimenting with portrait and landscape photography, the children could explain why a photograph looks better in a portrait or landscape format.
