In Year Five, we look outwards at our world and the needs of others. We love to fund-raise to help those in the world who are suffering. We considered ways in which we can support conservation work within the UK and beyond and decided we would like to fund-raise to adopt a Red Panda at Chester Zoo. We organised a disco fundraiser which funded a visit to Chester Zoo where we learnt about how we can prevent extinction.
This term, we have been learning about the role parliament plays in the creation of laws, linking to the British value ‘The Rule of Law’. We watched this informative video explaining how laws are created. https://youtu.be/iM4CKYCrW7Y
We then enjoyed having the chance to create our own law that we wanted to be voted for by the class panel. We had to think of persuasive reasons why our law should be approved as part of a class debate.
