GDPR, Rights, Responsibilities

What is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

The GDPR is designed to strengthen the safety and security of all data held within an organisation, and make sure procedures are consistent. It focuses on the privacy rights of individuals and the certain idea that everyone should know what data is held about them and how it is used. As a Church school, we acknowledge our accountability for all of our staff and stakeholders.

“Our purpose is to do what is right, not only in the sight

of the Lord, but also in the sight of others.”

2 Corinthians 8:21

Privacy notices

Under data protection law, individuals have a right to be informed about how the school uses any personal data that we hold about them. We comply with this right by providing 'Privacy Notices' (sometimes called 'fair processing notices') to individuals where we are processing their personal data. All adults who have information held by the school are asked to return the signed agreement page; although this is not a statutory requirement, we feel that it is good practice to check that all  fully understand how their data is held and processed and what their rights are in relation to this information. Please click on the relevant document link below to view or print an additional copy.

How do I find out more?

Organisational methods for keeping data secure are imperative, and Berkswich CE Primary believes that it is good practice to keep clear practical policies, backed up by written procedures. The document links below contain information detailing our collection and use of data.
