Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, regrettably we are unable to invite parents into school for a tour of Berkswich CE primary and nursery. We understand that choosing the right setting for your child is one of the most important decisions that you will make in your child’s learning journey. With this in mind, we hope to provide you with a range of opportunities to allow you to gain an insight into life as part of our special Berkswich community and the chance to ask questions. We certainly welcome the opportunity to support and reassure you as you organise your child’s first steps into Nursery and Reception. We are offering virtual meetings to provide an opportunity for new parents to meet our headteacher, EYFS leader and teaching staff. This will provide a great opportunity for you to ask questions and find out about our community and learning at Berkswich CE. Your child is a vital part of this process, and so we welcome them to join in with the meeting.

Cedars Wrap-Around

Welcome to Cedars Wrap-around Care Club at Berkswich CE Primary!

To find out more about our high-quality before and after school care club, please click on one of the leaf buttons below.

Cedars is a governor-run club which caters for children from Nursery to Year Six. Our friendly and supportive staff quickly build great relationships with all of the children in their care. Feel free to click on the leaf tabs below to visit the Cedars pages. Here you will be able to meet the staff, enjoy our photo gallery and read about the systems and policies which underpin our practice and keep every child in our care happy and safe.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have a smaller number of places for each year group; this will ensure that each bubble (group of children) does not exceed 15. Activities may differ to those usually provided and are in accordance with current guidance. Please view our related risk assessments which are in place to keep practice at Cedars in line with government guidance. Cedars starts earlier for the year groups which, due to the staggered school day, finish before the usual start time of 2:30pm. Please contact our manager, Mrs Johnstone ( if you have any further information regarding changes in provision.

What do sessions look like?

Activities vary from week to week; these make the most of the inside and outside spaces. Children enjoy opportunities, from den-building and cooking, to physical challenges and crafty tasks. Their views are taken into account and much of the planning stems from the children’s own ideas.

Parents will need to complete a registration form for each child attending Cedars and have agreed to the conditions set out in the Payment, Fees and Booking Policy.

Finding out more
