SEND and Inclusion

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities at Berkswich

We are proud to be an inclusive school at Berkswich. Through our comprehensive approach to SEND, we strive to provide a secure, caring and happy environment in which all of our pupils can experience success and enjoyment of learning through our dynamic curriculum.

Our dedication to meet all children's individual needs helps us to maximise every child's inclusion in all aspects of school and community life. We believe in equal opportunities for all, where everyone is treated with respect, dignity and is valued equally. We value and honour the views of our pupils and their families and provide opportunities for them to influence change and to be fully involved in the decision-making process.

Our SENDCo, Mrs Andrews works together with our class teachers to provide support across the school. Mrs Andrews who is also a trained ELSA is also supported by Mrs Newman our ELSA/Pastoral lead and other experienced support staff who work closely with some of our children.

Below is more detail about how we provide for children with special educational needs. Please take some time to read through this and if you have any further queries, please contact our SENDCo on 01785 337360 or via email on senco@berkswich.staffs.sch.uk. For specific enquiries or concerns you may have about your child, please contact your child’s class teacher in the first instance, either in person or via the school telephone number.
