In one of our lessons, we had to recognise that vector drawings consist of layers, so we created our own images doing just that. We identified that each added object creates a new layer in the drawing and could explain which objects were in the front layer or in the back layer of our drawings. We experimented by changing the order of layers in our vector drawings too. 

Over the last few weeks, Year Five have been introduced to vector drawings and how they are made up of simple shapes and lines. We are using Microsoft Publisher to complete this unit and so far we have learnt how to duplicate multiple objects. We have been grouping objects to make them easier to work with, copying and pasting these images, and then making simple alterations. Have a look at our colourful parrots - can you believe that they started out as penguins! We also produced our own designs using very simple shapes to see how creative we could be!
