Strengthening Curriculum Development in the EYFS

Early Excellence are delighted to be working in partnership with Berkswich CE Primary School to offer a two-day training programme for EYFS staff. Across the two days, you will participate in a range of practical planning activities, and explore inspiring, innovative examples of curriculum planning structures.

We will look closely at the relationship between your provision and your curriculum, with a specific focus on progression and how this may look in terms of resources and teaching. We will also unpick the relationship between your curriculum and our knowledge of child development and how young children learn.

Together we will consider the ‘Core Learning’ you want your children to gain during the EYFS and the role the Characteristics of Effective Learning have in curriculum development; whilst looking at strategies for creating a curriculum which is flexible and responsive to children’s changing needs, and reflective of current research findings.
