Year Five have been exploring vector drawings, learning how they are made up of simple shapes and lines. We looked at examples of vector drawings that we see in everyday life before having a go at creating an image using different shaped pieces of paper.
Moving on from this, Year Five learnt how to create their own vector drawing by moving, resizing, rotating, and changing the colours of a selection of objects. They also learnt how to duplicate the objects to save time.
The children developed their understanding of layers and how they are used in vector drawings. They learnt that each object is built on a new layer and that these layers can be moved forward and backward to create effective vector drawings.
The children even applied their skills from this unit to create a Christmas-themed vector to be used on a Christmas card!
