'Through our words and actions, we seek to model Christian values, treasuring everyone’s contribution, growing in wisdom and knowledge and celebrating and treating with dignity, all in our diverse family.'
Whilst our broad and varied curriculum at Berkswich engages with issues of equality, diversity and inclusion in many different ways, we recognise that there is much more we need to do in this regard. This year, we are developing and embedding our celebrations of many different cultures and communities throughout the school. We want children to have a deeper awareness and understanding such important issues.
As a school community we must always be looking to listen, learn and improve our understanding of the world around us so that we can engage with those issues in an informed and constructive manner, and thus make a positive difference to our community and world.
Our hope is to, not only raise awareness of what is going on in the wider world around school, but encourage all our children to draw connections across the many ways in which all cultures around the world have permeated and influenced the way we live our lives today.
We know our children will embrace this opportunity with curiosity and enthusiasm.
