Year Six have embarked on exploring and identifying the characteristics of film music, considering how different styles and instruments evoke different emotions.
The children began by considering how major and minor scales can impact the listener, using musical vocabulary to talk about how the composer's choices can create a mood or tell a story. Sam, Savannah, Josh and Sophie share their views below.
Adventurous? Tense? Romantic? Dramatic? Shocking?
There are so many ways in which music can make us react; it was great to have the power through our compositions, to 'force' the listener to feel the emotions that we would like them to feel at each point of a film. What power music has on the audience!
