In Year 5 this half term, we have been looking at different types of dance music. The children have fully immersed themselves in this unit!

Where we began...

We began by exploring a range of dance music and identifying the features we could hear. This encouraged lots of musical discussion from the class, implementing their musical vocabulary! The children quickly picked up on the loops they could hear throughout the different songs! After this, they worked in pairs to create their own loops and perform them for the class, they were brilliant! 

Picking our final piece!

At the end of every unit in music, we create and perform a final piece. The children were really keen on picking their own song for this! Out of a hat, we picked from the many suggestions... our final piece will be by The Prodigy - Out of Space, which was suggested by Wilf.
