Possessive Apostrophes

Possessive Apostrophes

Please recap the rules for possessive apostrophes below.

For your writing task today, I would like you to find objects around your house for inspiration and write sentences with a possessive apostrophe.

Here are my examples:

As usual, my sister’s handbag has been left on the floor.

My parents’ car is red.

Gracefully, the flowers’ petals danced in the wind.

The children’s climbing frame was used every day.

Challenge

  • Can you use singular and plural nouns?
  • Can you vary your sentence openers by using subordinating conjunctions and fronted adverbials?
