Spreadsheet challenges!

In the first lesson, Year Six spent a little time away from the computer to investigate how to organise tables themselves, before using Excel.

By the end of this lesson, they were able to see the need for a spreadsheet and how useful it is to consider the purpose of the sheet before setting it up.

In the second lesson, the children showed off their technical vocabulary when formatting the cells to ensure that the data entries were calculated meaningfully within Excel.

Ellis - 'To format a cell, you right click, format and select the

format option you want. This applies it to the cell.'

Joel - 'Using formatting, you can use exact minutes and seconds

to be specific. You can also use percentages too.'

Belle - 'The boxes on an Excel spreadsheet are called cells

and we can locate them by using cell references.'
