The children have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of watching eggs hatch into chicks over the past couple of weeks. Along with learning all about the life cycle of a chicken and how to care for chicks, the children especially enjoyed being able to handle the chicks and give them endless cuddles. Having the chicks in class has provided lots of opportunities to develop our maths skills, counting, measuring and comparing. In Literacy, the chicks inspired us to write sentences including adjectives to describe them.
