Busy Bodies
During this unit we created representations of a body by making pictures. The children were encouraged to label the parts of the body in a range of ways - using pre-made photo labels, by writing simple emergent writing labels, by recording their ideas verbally or having the words scribed.
The children followed instructions (an algorithm) for a simple set of movements or dance routine.
They then adapted and changed this to make their own routine and test to see if it works.
Winter warmers
The children worked together making bird feeders, learning about patterns by discussing and making scarf designs for snowmen and discovering igloos and how they are made.
