Governing Board Strategic Statement on Artificial Intelligence

The Governing Board of Berkswich CE Primary School understands that new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, offer exciting opportunities to support our teachers and enhance learning for our children.

Guided by our Christian values of wisdom, compassion and service, we are committed to introducing these tools thoughtfully and safely, always placing our children's wellbeing at the heart of every decision.

Following the Department for Education's guidance, we see technology as a valuable assistant that can help reduce the time that our dedicated teachers spend on paperwork and administrative tasks, freeing more precious moments to focus on what they do best -nurturing each child's unique gifts, building trusting relationships and creating the inspiring learning environment that makes Berkswich CE so special.

We will ensure that any new tools are carefully chosen, properly supervised and used in ways that teach our children to be thoughtful, responsible users of technology who understand both its potential and its limitations.

Through open dialogue with parents, ongoing training for our staff, and regular review of our practices, we are excited to embrace these opportunities whilst staying true to our fundamental mission: providing a caring, Christ-centred education where every child is valued, supported, and encouraged to flourish in all aspects of their development.
