In our Jazz unit, Year Three learnt about the different types of Jazz music: ragtime, traditional and scatting. 

We loved learning about scatting. This is when people imitate the sound of instruments with their voices. Take a peek at the video below to see us have a go!

Call and response is an important part of traditional jazz music. In the video below, we looked at repeating the original call to the tune of 'When the Saint's go Marching In'. After this, we experimented with different responses using a combination of the notes in different orders.
