When should my child learn each times table?
Which multiplication tables should my child be learning?
The expectations for each year group is outlined below. Please do speak to your child's teacher to find out where your child is and their current needs.
Year One | Count in multiples of 2, 5 and 10. Recall and use doubles of all numbers to 10 and corresponding halves. |
Year Two | Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables, including recognising odd and even numbers. |
Year Three | Recall and use the multiplication and division facts for the 3, 4 and 8 multiplication tables. |
Year Four | Recall and use multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables up to 12 x 12. |
Year Five | Revision of all multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12. |
Year Six | Revision of all multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12. |
