The Flowing River

The children have considered the different stages of a river, listening to 'The Moldau' by Bedřich Smetana (Moldau is a German name for the Vitava river in the Czeck Republic). The music alters as each new section of the river begins...all the way to the mouth of the river.

In order to talk meaningfully about the texture, dynamics and features of the music, the children continued to develop knowledge and use of musical vocabulary. This repeated game has been an opportunity for the children in increase their knowledge and use of musical terms.

Learning to sing two different parts to create a harmony has been a great challenge to tackle. We have been recording and listening to our progress, and using this to continue to improve each time. These are just two of our recordings.
