Ancient Egyptians!

Composing our own piece of music to mark a pharaoh’s life.

In our second lesson, the children have been creating and performing improvised pieces of music and notating them using hieroglyphs.

Alfie and Areeba created this graphic score and used it to play their two-bar piece; each section reminded them what to play. Can you guess why they left a space free? 

In our third lesson, the children worked towards playing in time with each other, following stave notation on the glockenspiel. Elisheba, Elizabeth and Eva, with Daisy conducting, demonstrate a section below...
