Year Three have thoroughly enjoyed learning about South Africa during our South Africa-themed instrumental unit.

The children have developed their rhythmic, singing, and notation skills. They were introduced to traditional South African gumboot dancing and used the glockenspiels to perform percussion to accompany the song.

We have also improved our ability to read musical notation. We can now recognise that different notes are played for different lengths of time and can identify various features on a musical staff.
