The County Council no longer administer Nursery admissions. Please apply directly to our school if you would like a place for the term after your child turns three. For more information about our Nursery and wrap around care, please see below and the information booklet and application form to the right. A copy of the information booklet can also be viewed at the bottom of the page.
At Berkswich CE Primary, we are unique in the fact that we provide whole day, teacher-led Nursery provision for children aged three and four. 30 hours ‘free’ childcare is an entitlement for most working parents with three and four year olds. Parents are encouraged to apply for this funding; please follow the link (below/right) to find out more.
At present, Berkswich CE Nursery is able to admit twenty one pupils in our morning Nursery sessions and twenty one pupils in our afternoon sessions. All places should be applied for through our governor run Nursery Admissions Procedure.
Our morning Nursery sessions commence at 8:45am and finish at 11:45am. A lunch club is offered for all Nursery children between 11:45am and 12:30pm. Afternoon Nursery sessions run from 12:30pm until 3:30pm. Further wrap-around provision is available from 7:45am until Nursery starts and from the end of afternoon Nursery, until 5:30pm.
We warmly welcome children who have just turned three to our Nursery sessions. Please see our Nursery information Guide.
We offer an excellent model of transition to our Nursery, in order to ensure that children are happy and confident when they start their education at Berkswich. There are a number of parent and child taster sessions available; parents and children are invited into school on a weekly basis during the second part of the Summer Term, prior to the children beginning at Berkswich in the September. We also offer bespoke transition sessions for those children who may turn three later in the year and join us during the Spring and Summer Terms.
For further information about funding choices, starting points, admissions criteria or an application form, please click on the links on the right. If you require paper copies of any of the information, then please contact the school office. Completed forms should be returned via firstname.lastname@example.org or to the school.
Tax-Free Childcare is an online government service for parents to make payments to their childcare providers, this can be used at Cedars before and after school club and for Nursery wrap-around. For every £8 a parent pays into their Childcare account, the government will add an extra £2 to their Childcare Account, parents need to check their eligibility via the link below.
Parents can then use that money to make childcare payments directly to the school’s bank account. To access the service and to find out more please visit the site via the link below.
